This morning year 4 boarded two mini buses to Our Lady's RC High School. Once there we walked through the impressive school to a science lab where we were greeted by a science teacher.

The science lab was very different to our year 4 classroom.

We had to sit in 2's and there were benches along the side. At first we spoke about different metals we knew of then we began the exciting experiments. We used bunsen burners, tongues, test tubes and splints! For our first experiment we watched the reaction when a magnesium ribbon was put in the flame, it was very exciting. Our second experiment included acid, don't worry we were all sensible and careful.

Miss Whitehead said we all worked brilliantly in our teams, sharing and making sure everyone was safe. She was so impressed we were all given a silver!

We had a great morning and hope we get another invite to do some more science at Our Lady's High School soon.
