As part of our Ancient Greek topic we created our own coil pots using clay and then painted them in traditional colours and decorated them with Greek patterns. It was great getting dirty and creating something useful out of a lump of a lump of clay. We had to be careful when painting our patterns, but we picked them carefully and practised drawing them on our whiteboards first.
