Over the past few days we have observed the butterflies emerge from their chrysalises, watched them dry their wings and feed on oranges and enjoyed watching them flutter around in their net. Today we had to set them free! We gathered on the grass and opened the netting, letting them fly away. Some were keen to leave and flew off straight away, others were a little shy and we had to scoop them out of the net. It has been brilliant observing these creatures over the past few weeks and learning all about their life cycle.
