This week has been anti bullying week and we have been focusing on this in our lessons. In year 4 we discussed what bullying is and what we see and hear when it is taking place. We also shared what we see and hear in school when there are strong friendships, we had a lot more information on friendships as we are all friends at St Annes.

In literacy we are in the middle of a poetry unit so this week we have adapted it slightly and have been looking at the themes of bullying and friendship in poetry and have even written our own friendship poems.

On Tuesday we were very lucky to have the opportunity to watch a performance all about cyber bullying. We eet different characters who had been the victim of cyber bullying or had bullied someone else! We learnt that cyber bullying is when someone receives mean and threatening messages through text, voicemail and on the internet through websites such as Facebook and Instagram. We now know that if this happens we can call the police, website administrators and even change our number and block others from contacting us. Never reply to mean or threatening messages as this could make things worse!

Yes that's a man in a wig, it made us laugh too.

At St Anne's we know that everyone is irreplaceable and unique and deserves to be treated with respect
